Trailered & Flipped

We purchased the second hand trailer yesterday and its a great fit for what we need and was picked up for a very reasonable price as it only needs a couple of repairs. One repair has to be done asap as it is rust in a structural area and the second spot makes no difference to the structure of the trailer so it can wait till whenever to be done.

I had no intention of putting the hull/shell of the boat on the trailer yet but shit happens and it needed to be done at the time. The shell is still way too flimsy to be on the trailer with only two supports but that's just the way it is so I will deal with the construction as is.

There was some bad news from our friend the boat-builder last week as we were laying the fibreglass on the hull. He informed us that hence forth he would be charging $30/hr for any help on the hull/boat. Unfortunately we did not budget for this and we were not informed of this before we started the build. We were not supplied with plans and we did not ask up from if he would supply plans or  be wanting to charge us any fees along the way for his help. So we made a big mistake.
There is no money in the budget to be paying anyone else to help us so we are now on our own to build this boat from how it is now - just a skin/shell into a race boat with all the necessary internal structure and fittings.............Should be a bit of a challenge to put it mildly........

So the current plan going forward is to buy all the parts the boat builder has for us which is a mast and spinnaker pole.
We will then be building from ply/timber for the internal structure and deck/cabin as I understand timber and know what is needed to complete this hull with timber rather than foam/fibreglass which is lighter/stronger/more expensive and I don't understand how it works---easy decision in that regard. The hull will be heavier in timber but just as strong as foam/fibreglass and I should be able to finish the hull within budget easier than with foam, it's a shame but I don't have the knowledge or confidence in using foam.

Empty shell moved onto the 'new' trailer.
Foam core and fibreglass with ply bolted to the 'new' trailer
