Splash 18th October

She's in the water all rigged up and ready to go and it's blowing into the low 20's,
 so no sailing today.

Having a look now she's in the water

We were expecting high winds but I was hoping to get an early start to get a little sail in, no such luck. Our friend Scott Murphy and his daughter Gemma came and enjoyed our christening of 'Charlene' and had a look around. Another friend, Greg Williamson (currently re-fitting his 30ft catamaran) also came down to QCYC to have a look and a chat.
Lots of nice messages from friends who couldn't make it down due to other commitments like being in another country, thanks to you guys here and in the USA.

Nice ass !

We had a little trouble with our trailer which was quickly fixed in the afternoon with a new set of bearings, which should have been done before but I kept bumping it from the top of the list to later lists.
Champagne for 'Charlene'

The brand new engine is not pumping water so even if the weather plays nice we can't afford to cook the engine so we will be loading the girl back on the trailer tomorrow. We'll get the engine sorted soon and pick another weekend for the first sail, a nice light breeze day.
There is a inter-club race on next Saturday and we will have our race main back next week sometime, so we might go out for that if it's a nice breeze for a test and tune.

It may have the corners rounded a little but there's no mistaking the heritage.

May 2010 Shazza was at QCYC, October 2014 Charlene gets to take her spot.
Yes she is very unusual, like it or not this is her.
